We need to be thankful for every encounter with our mother tongue, also those taking place outside of usual conditions, as they evoke interest in children as well as adults in a unique way. One of these encounters takes the form of Dukhnovich’s Prešov, which is an event within Rusyn cultural and ethnic life. Here, competitions in reciting of Rusyn poetry and prose, presentations of authors’ own literary works, as well as performances of theatrical groups can be witnessed. On June 12th, 2009 on the main stage of the Alexander Dukhnovich Theatre in Prešov, this annual event took place for the 10th time.
