Five works by the most famous Rusyn sold at an auction for 55,780,500 USD

On November 11th, 2009, Sotheby’s Auction House in New York held one of this year’s most important auctions, where, out of 54 works on offer, 52 were sold for a total of 134,4 million USD. Five works by the king of pop-art Andy Warhol (whose both parents were Rusyns from the village of Miková in north-east Slovakia) caused extraordinary excitement and were sold for a total of 55,780,500 USD.
