On June 28th, 2009 the 3rd year of the successful event “On the Feast of St John” was held in Jakubiany, where St John’s customs, traditions, songs and dances from the region were presented. This pleasant event was opened by a speech given by PhDr. Jozef Dufala, the Mayor of the village, and was followed by a great cultural programme. Performances were given by the following folk groups: Barvinok from Kamienka, Poľana from Jarabina and others. The fact that a lot of young people were a part of the programme is a sure sign of the continued development of Rusyn culture.
