Rusyns of Croatia have their own symbols

On October 29th, 2009, national symbols of Rusyns – coat-of-arms, flag and anthem – were officially approved. The flag has three colours: red, white and blue with the Rusyn coat-of-arms in the middle, just like the Rusyn one used around the world; this one is, however, in combination with the Croatian national flag – vertical red and white lines above the coat-of-arms. A modified version of the song “Braca Rusyny“ (“Rusyn Brothers”), will serve as the anthem of Croatian Rusyns. May 25th will be celebrated as the National Rusyn Holiday in Croatia. This day is also associated with the foundation of the Greek-Catholic parish of Petrovce.
