Voices of Rusyns from the Starínska dolina valley could be heard in Snina

On October 10th, 2009 a social-cultural event Voices of Rusyns from the Starínska dolina Valley was held in Snina as a part of a project by the Slovak Ministry of Culture. The event was organised by the Rusyn Cultural-Educational Association of A. Dukhnovich in Prešov, the regional branch and the Municipal Office, Department of Education, Culture and Sport in Snina. The event took place in the main hall of the Snina Court House.

•The event “Voices of Rusyns from the Starinská dolina valley“ in Snina was attended by a new generation of those forced to move from the valley in question due to the building of a man-made lake. They, as well as all participants, had a chance to witness a cultural programme which included performances by the following: (from the right) the Jarolíns, father and son, M. Dubjaková and M. Girová.
